We're pretty much paperless. We store almost all files on computer hard drives rather than wasting paper and space by using file cabinets, etc. We communicate with clients and send invoices via email instead of snail mail.

We recycle. Any paper that we do inevitably have to use, we reuse and recycle. We recycle our ink cartridges and toner, our paper and plastics, every imaginable thing that is recyclable material.

We don't commute. We don't have carbon emissions because we don't commute to and from an office every day.

Our customers don't commute. We deal with our customer via the internet or telephone, so our customers don't have carbon emissions from commuting to and from our office either.

We don't use as much electricity. We don't have a large office with thousands of square feet that requires tons of electricity. We don't use fluorescent light bulbs that waste energy. All of our light bulbs are energy efficient and most days we don't even use the lights – we open the window blinds for the sunlight.

We buy in bulk. Wholesale prices are cheaper anyways, so we buy in bulk. By doing so we simultaneously reduce shipping and packaging costs and waste.

We just use practical common sense. We simply pay attention to our consumption and don't do wasteful things. Did you know that 600 tons of steel could be saved if every office worker in the United States used one less staple a day? Sounds shocking, but it's just another example of how common sense can help save the world! Tiny things add up to big impacts.
